A good fit starts with a good measurement.
Prepare your glass, measurements and cable route before choosing a kit.
Measure the usable glass
Measure the exposed glass width and height in inches at several points. Record the smallest usable dimensions. Frames, gaskets and hardware reduce the available space. Plan for about 0.08 in. of total clearance.
If you need to trim
You may trim the height only at the edge opposite the busbar. You may trim no more than 0.79 in. from each side. Never cut or handle the electrical area. Trimming is at your risk; a cut or damaged panel cannot be returned for a change of mind, and damage caused by trimming is not covered by the limited warranty.
Plan the power route
Identify a suitable outlet, a dry accessible transformer location and a protected cable route. Do not pinch wires in a moving door or window. Moving glass requires a compatibility review.
Check the surface and environment
Use only flat interior glass suitable for this film. Existing coatings, textured glass and some glazing assemblies may be incompatible. Do not install in direct shower spray or expose electrical components to moisture.
Prepare for installation
Control airborne dust, clean the bare glass thoroughly and align the panel before removing the liner. Large panels may require two people. Read the complete installation guide before starting.
